Progress In The Man Room

Hey Friends!   Amongst other projects this week, I have been working on finishing up the bar area in Anthony’s man room.   Here’s a look at how the space is coming along.

The entire room was basically a blank slate with a few pieces of furniture, but nothing on the walls. After looking at the space, I thought the window nook would make the perfect spot for a raised bar area.

So, we built a platform and covered it in a beautiful wood flooring (which you will get a better look at later).  Since this nook is directly across from the door into the space, I felt like this was a great place to create a focal point.  The CNC’d wood panels will soon have fitted leather pieces inset into them.  Any guesses why I chose leather and that particular pattern?

I love the look of a waterfall edge countertop, so that’s what we are going with here.  The countertop surface is not quite finished yet because I am experimenting with some different finishes.  The front of the bar is decorated with a rusted steel panel.  I love the masculine and organic feel it brings to the space.

Stay tuned to see it come together!

PS- Remember how I told you I was working on a new blog design and that I will be switching to a  new blog address soon?!  Well, if everything goes as planned, the switch will happen on Monday!!  Of course, I will put up reminders and redirects but I just wanted to prepare you for the switch! I think you’re going to like it! 🙂

I love the rusted steel panel! The back of my kitchen island is solid gray concrete and I was thinking about slapping a piece of rusted steel on it (under the bar) that I have in my shop, but my husbands thinks it’s silly. I can’t wait to see this finished maybe it will win him over!
