Random Cool- From Europe

Random Cool- From Europe

Hello Friends.  This week has been rough.  My grandmother (mom mom) was buried last Tuesday, Tim’s aunt passed away in her sleep a couple of days ago and a friend’s husband died in a car accident this past weekend.  Death seems to be all around us.  One thing is for sure, death certainly makes you step back and evaluate what this life is all about. For me, it’s easy to get caught up in the rat race and neglect relationships.  But then a week like this happens and you realize that one day none of the accolades and accomplishments will matter.  All that will matter are the lives that you touched along the way.  Man, I need be better about reaching out.

I think there is one thing that makes losing loved ones bearable.  It’s knowing that this life is not all there is.  Praise the Lord for the hope of Heaven through Jesus. And although right now I can’t really wrap my mind around eternity and how amazing Heaven must be, I am so thankful to know that my loved ones are enjoying paradise.  A paradise a can’t even imagine because it is so much better than anything on this earth. Yes, praise the Lord for that.

As you may or may not know, Tulsa had a severe thunderstorm a couple of days ago and the high winds knocked down numerous trees causing wide spread power outage.  Unfortunately Tim and I are amongst the masses still going without electricity, so I will try to get posts out and keep inspiration flowing here on the blog, but please forgive me if it doesn’t happen.

So, this post includes photos of random things that inspired me while we were in Paris and London.  I thought you might enjoy some “random cool” from Europe!

Generally when I think of subway stations, I think gross, smelly, and dirty.  However Paris (although still smelly) offered some beautiful scenes in their metro stations.  Each one was designed a little differently. I especially loved this one on the left that looked so classy and elegant with it’s black and white color palette, shiny surfaces, and classic light fixtures. The one on the right offered a lovely color palette as well!

We saw some amazing doors while we were away.  There are whole articles and posts dedicated to the gorgeous entries in the european countries.  I really loved the shape and color of this door as well as the beautiful tile work beside it!

There are lots of versions of the lit up bottle bar.  I liked how clean and orderly this version was.  PS- stay tuned for a lit up bottle bar of our own- coming soon!

This fancy and whimsical restaurant was in London.  I loved its eclectic look and mood lighting.

I spotted this display at the fashion show.  Stacked paint cans never looked so chic!

With our lack of closet space in the loft, I’ve been brainstorming creative ways to store clothing.  This display caught my eye.  Not sure I would/could do this exactly, but it’s got me thinking!

Rusted metal panels?  So masculine, so edgy.  Love them.  You’ll be seeing some of that in upcoming designs as well! 🙂

So, there are a few random cool sightings while we worked our way around Europe.  More to come! 🙂
