Attention Ms. Julie B. Green! You are the lucky winner from the Sunshine and Carousels giveaway! Thanks to all who entered! Now on to the post.
Remember when I posted about “The Hub”, a workout facility that I whipped up a few design boards for? Well, I wanted to share another stirring design with you today!
This board is for the upstairs office area where the owners will be spending a ton of time. If you’ve ever owned your own business, you know that your life can very easily be consumed by your “baby” and making it work! So, I wanted to create a space where these two go getters could get work done, but also provide a place where they could relax and kick up their feet!
For most of the walls, I suggested a concrete overlay (which I will show you how to do next week!!). For the floor and one other wall, I thought a pickled wood would look wonderful and add warmth to the concrete. It will also bring a nice rustic texture to the entire room.
When searching for a desk, I thought an industrial looking metal and wood cart would really fit the feel we were going for and could hopefully be found or made relatively inexpensively.
The suggested desk will sit on the wall opposite of two metal bookshelves I found online. I really like to keep repeating elements throughout a space to make it feel cohesive so I like that both the desk and the bookshelves incorporate metal.
Of course, comfortable seating was a must. I found chairs that would not only feel good, but look good. The chairs are also where I brought in some more feminine lines to make sure that this space spoke to both partners! A few other unique items complete the design and give it that Rustic Modern vibe that we were going for. What kind of design style are you leaning towards these days?
If you have a room that you would like help designing, please let me know! I am available to do online design consultations no matter where you live and I am available for “on site” consults if you live in the Tulsa or NW Arkansas area. I am also willing to travel if a situation calls for it!

I have been loving Industrial Antique – which is not that far off from what you have above! Where are those chairs from? Love it!
I love it! I’m a big fan of industrial lately, and I’m planning our back porch accordingly.
I’m loving everything you selected for the space. But I have a concern regarding the cart/desk. I don’t see how you could pull up a chair and fit your legs & feet under it. The bottom shelf would get in the way.
