Hey Friends! I absolutely love making connections with you both virtually and face to face. At our Anthro Cork Craft Day, I was able to meet Ms. Shayla and was delighted to spend some time with her and Amanda (Shayla on the left, Amanda on the right).
It turns out that Shayla was quite inspired by our crafting date and went home to create more cork goodness.
Isn’t that beautiful and wonderfully different from other cork boards you’ve seen? Shayla cut her cork discs using an exacto knife but if you happen to have a scroll saw, you can use that (like Rachelle did) to save your fingers from cramping.
Shayla also started researching some other fun she could have with corks and posted some different ideas on her blog. I especially liked the look of the cork discs being used as tile! I could see this look being part of the Clean Slate house for sure, maybe as a backsplash or bathroom floor!!
Be sure to visit Shayla’s blog to see more cork inspiration!

Oh my goodness, you are so sweet to feature my project! If you like the cork tile, you should also check out this wine cork floor: http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2009/09/02/garden/20090903-recycled-slideshow_3.html. The picture doesn’t do it justice…I’ve been there in person and it’s even more fabulous!
Thanks so much for the mention!
