The Coolest Doll House Ever

The Coolest Doll House Ever

Here’s a pretty incredible before and after for you! Remember when I showed you this sneak peak photo a few weeks ago?

Well, that snap shot didn’t tell the whole story. Take a few steps back and you get a much different picture.

And that’s not even in it’s finished state- here’s a final photo.

This incredible mini house was created for the Mother Nature commercial Tim and I worked on. I was charged with creating the environment inside Mother Nature’s house while Chris, the Production Designer was focused on designing the perfect quaint cottage for one of folklore’s most famous characters.
What’s even more amazing is that this incredible creation was made from a big block of styrofoam, just like the one below!

Pretty impressive, right!? Here are some more photos!

Every detail was perfected, from the faux painting job, to the diamond patterned window insets, to the tiny wreath on the tiny door. Here are the art department boys working on the “landscaping.”

We were all pleased with how the project turned out and extremely happy for Chris to add such a great project to his portfolio. I was really hoping Chris would get to keep the house and take it home to his 4 little girls. Wouldn’t that thing make the coolest dollhouse ever!?? Here’s the proud papa posing with his masterpiece.

Unfortunately Chris didn’t get to keep the house- the client liked the piece so much they decided they would find a place to display it. 🙁 Bummer!
Anyway, the idea is that on camera (with a little bit of post production) this mini house will appear life size and as if it is sitting smack dab in a forest somewhere. The commercial is supposed to be running soon so hopefully I can record it to show all of you!

That is incredible!!! I had no idea it was so big until I scrolled down and saw the photos with the guys working on it… too bad his little girls won’t get to play with it! Can’t wait to see the commercial!
