Do remember that movie, “The Holiday?” You know, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet switch places. Kate leaves the English Countryside to see LA and live lavishly in this home.
And Cameron leaves the hustle and bustle of LA to enjoy the quite solitude of this gorgeous cottage in the country.
All photos above found at Cote de Texas.
Well, it turns out Tulsa has it’s very own Holiday house! A few months ago, Tim and I were working on a commercial that was shot in this lovely little home.
When I walked in the front door, I immediately thought of the movie I had seen years ago. Major props to the Set Decorator on that movie for creating such a memorable environment! Anyway, here are a few photos I snapped (with my i-phone, so sorry about the quality) to show you the enchanting cottage right here in T-town!
I know right off the bat this place seems much more dark and masculine than “The Holiday” house, but in the movie the set was much darker. Obviously the photos above were taken to show off the set and had to be well lit, but I think you can still see the resemblance- wood beams, comfortable couches, persian rugs, a cozy fireplace, and a just overall charming environment.
This charming home in Tulsa is for sale and if you are a super serious buyer (and have around $900,000) I can get you in contact with the realtor.
Tomorrow I will post a DIY you can do this weekend in just a few hours!

I have seen this house on the mls listing recently. It is gorgeous, and if I had $900,000 I would snap it up. I love the pictures of the upstairs loft/landing with the built-in bookcase and the bathroom with the claw foot tub. It is a gorgeous house.
I can’t believe I just stumbled upon your blog and happened to see this post, The Holiday is one of my favorite movies and I was just as in love with the interiors of the movie as you. That movie actually made me look into becoming a set designer. Unfortunately my current mid-west location isn’t in the midst of many major movie productions. But every time I watch the movie I get lost in all the layers of texture in the country home and love the modern feel of the LA home. Don’t forget Arthur Abbott’s home either..so much character.
Oh my goodness that is WILD! I absolutely love that movie. Yes. That is so much fun you were able to go there, and to see these pictures- thank you for posting! Oh dooo keep in touch via blogworld (now a happy follower of yours) I would love to meet up if you made it to LA!! I am jsut getting settled from moving to Santa M. this summer…
Can’t wait to see your D.I.Y. I hope this is okay but I am really wanting to attempt your paper latern lamp this weekend. I’ve seen these and I love them. I don’t own a glue gun though so I am not sure if there is glue I could use without having to buy one?? hmmm.
