I hope you all enjoyed Tim’s post yesterday! As he said, I just accepted a job at Anthropologie to be their newest Display Coordinator (DC)! I was beyond excited when they called to offer me the position. It is literally a dream come true! Read the end of this post to get an idea of how I was feeling when I wasn’t hired for the job the first time around.
The interview process was very interesting and perfect timing. I happened into Anthropologie after a client told me about an idea she saw there and really liked. I went to check it out and saw the “Now Hiring a Display Coordinator” sign, so on a whim I decided to inquire about it. The girl at the register said I could fill out an application online or in the store. I decided to put my name in the hat ASAP and filled out an application right then and there. When I went to give the sales associate the completed application, she informed me the visual manager wanted to meet me. So, I met Katherine and liked her immediately. I think we are going to make a great team!
Throughout the process I was unsure of my standing- I feel like I am a terrible interviewee. I have a lot of trouble describing why I will be good at a job. I just want people to look at my work and see that I would be good at this job. 🙂 Luckily, they did look at my work and thought I would be a great fit!
Some of you may be wondering what this new position means for Kara Paslay Designs and the blog. Well have no fear! I still plan on doing a daily blog posts (with the help of Tim) and I am definitely going to keep Kara Paslay Designs moving full steam ahead! I am in the process of hiring some help to assist in the installation of design ideas, the upkeep of the blog, the marketing/PR of my business and more. You to can help me juggle all these responsibilities by contributing a great guest post! Please let me know if you are interested!
