Happy Wednesday Friends! Thanks for contributing to yesterday’s post. I did appreciate people sharing their opinions about the topic of Pinterest and intellectual property in general. It is a subject that I will continue to think about and I hope you will too!
Now, on to today’s post! Right now it’s the small things that are bringing me joy in everyday life. Although we have a ton of major projects to take on, I am swamped with client projects at the moment and therefore have only been able to make small improvements to our living arrangements so far. Case in point, my coffee pot set up.
In the past, the coffee pot has been all about function. . . and helping me function. The look of the whole set-up was bland and boring but it made hot coffee, so I was ok. Well, one day as I was walking through Target I spied a super cute green french press. I also saw a sleek metal colored one and debated on which one I wanted to look at everyday. In the end, after buying both, taking them home, and then forcing myself to choose, I stuck with the bright and cheery green color! At first, I was worried about the function of a French Press and how many extra steps I would have to go through in order to get my morning cup of joe. I am happy to say it is just as easy as using the coffee pot.
So, this is how my coffee set-up looks now!
So much better, right!? It’s amazing to me how changing the smallest things can make you happy. The bright green combined with the blues just makes me smile in the morning! I also changed a couple of other things to complete the set-up. One was the way I stored my coffee- it’s now in a old blue canning jar. And my Truvia packets are now held in some fun blue gradient colored bowls. You can find these bowls at Target right now. They come in a 4 pack for $6 and you can choose from an orange, pink, blue, or green gradient! Such an easy and inexpensive way to make life more colorful!
Finally, I corralled the whole set-up in a tray which helps things to feel neat and tidy. Before I kept the coffee pot as out of sight as possible. Now I gladly display the coffee collection on top of the island all day long!
There are so many ways to allow the details in life to make a difference. This idea is not life altering but it does make waking up a little easier and life just a little more beautiful. What small change could you make today?

I love that coffee cup. So cute!
I love the french press! We switched over to a keurig about a year ago, and I second guess that decision a lot. The flavor that comes from a french press is my favorite by far, and I love how easily it can all be tucked away, off the counters. If I had one as beautiful as yours I would never want to put it away. Great set up!
I like the rustic measuring spoon! Where did you get it?! We only use a french press when the power is out. I just can’t get it hot enough for long enough to enjoy my coffee with one of those. And I hate cleaning it. To each his own!
