It’s Thursday! And do you know what this means?! It means I am one day away from my 10 year high school reunion!!! Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it’s been 10 years! Now that is crazy!!! I feel like I’m living in a fast forward world these days. . .I just know I’m going to wake up tomorrow and be 60. During these times when it seems like life is flying by, I try to remember to enjoy every single moment. I am one of those people who can get so focused I forget to relish life. My senior year of college, I claimed the verse “You have redeemed me from the pit and I will live to enjoy the light of life.” (paraphrased) Job 33:28. This would be the mantra I lived by (or tried to at least). . . to this day I still have to step back often and tell myself “Enjoy this. . .stop trying to just finish the race and enjoy the scenery.”
I really do love my job and I love being in creative environments. Going into an Anthropologie is really one of my favorite ways to be rejuvenated. Every road trip we take, visiting the Anthros in the area is always at the top of the “to do” list. So, when we traveled to St. Louis this past weekend, we stayed true to form. Check out this installation I fell in love with! (PS- I also fell in love with Instagram on this trip.)
Although it is usually Anthro that I am oohing and ahhing over, this trip I was really taken with the Urban Outfitters displays!
Did you know that you can dye wood? You can and it’s absolutely beautiful! I guess I am really into swirly, twirly things right now- first the slides from The City Museum and now this giant mobile from Urban.
You can never go wrong with a starburst effect. . . whether it’s on a mirror, painted on a rug, or created with scraps of woods, the look is simply beautiful!
This wavy ombre piece had to my favorite thing I saw all weekend. I love how seamlessly the colors are blended and the movement of the piece. Major kudos to the creator of this installation!!
So, there are just a few photos to keep you creative juices going! More inspiration coming your way tomorrow!!! Stay tuned!!!

Anthro always has such amazing displays. Love the colors in the last piece! I just moved to Tulsa from a town that didn’t have Anthro, or even one nearby, so I was super excited to see there’s one in Tulsa.
Seriously! I’m so bummed I’ve been so busy I can’t read any of my blogs so this morning I was determined to catch up on my favorites. I say this with 100 percent truth – your blog is the first one I’m on :-). Kara – I can’t tell you how much I relate to the old feeling and waking up tomorrow being 60. It’s scary. My birthday is tomorrow and I’m trying to forget it lol! I don’t mind getting older but the high school reunion is painful! Seems like just yesterday we were in high school! My hubby is coming up on his 10 year and I’m not far behind him. So if you ever need a shoulder to cry on….mine is not wrinkly yet hahaha! Hope you have a blast seeing everyone!
