Use “Mother Nature” to your beautify your bungalow with a MAGNOLIA LEAF WREATH!
Find yourself some fine lookin’ foliage from the great outdoors and save yourself some serious green!!!!
TOTAL COST- $0!!!!!!
Supplies needed:
– wire hanger
– wire cutters
– pliers
– glue gun
– and of course magnolia leaves (possibly from a loving friend’s tree)
Step 1- take your hanger and use wire cutters to cut off the top hook.
Step #2- Form what’s left of your hanger into a circle (this doesn’t have to be perfect, the leaves will hide a lot!)
Step #3- Tear the leaves off their “branch” and leave the stem in tact.
Step #4- Begin to string your leaves onto the wire. Simply poke the wire through the leaf about an inch down from the stem. Be very random when stringing- put small leaves by big leaves and do not always poke from green side to brown side.
Step #5- Your wreath will start to take shape. Keep stringing leaves until you think you have run out of room. The more leaves the better! Now, use your pliers to create a hook on both ends of the wire.
Step #6- Hook them together.
Step #7- Place the wreath on the ground and position the leaves so that all the stems point in the same direction. Then, use hot glue every 20 leaves or so to create a “stopper.” This makes sure that over time the leaves do not settle leaving exposed wire at the top of the wreath.
Step #8- Hang and ENJOY!
The wreath holds up very well over time! I have had mine for a couple of months now. The leaves do eventually turn brown (which I think is still pretty) but if you don’t like that look you can always spray paint the leaves gold or silver for a more elegant appearance.

I love this!! I made a fresh magnolia wreath for Christmas and it’s still hanging…but I glued my leaves to a flat wreath form. I like yours better!

Sorry it took me a bit to get to your comment. My wreath lasted a while, but it did eventually turn brown. I wasn’t able to find anything to preserve it, but please let me know if you do I would love to pass ideas along.
