Relaunch and Cal’s Bedroom Reveal

Relaunch and Cal’s Bedroom Reveal

Hello Friends!  Long time, no see!  Oh my goodness, things got hectic last year.  Was it that way for you?  Well, here at Kara Paslay Designs, it’s time to get things back on track and we’re starting off this blog relaunch with a bang!  For the next few weeks, you can expect tons of new content, some amazing giveaways, and some adorable, friendly new faces!

So, you may be wondering what exactly a “blog relaunch” means.  Well here’s the breakdown:

#1- We’ve got a whole new look!!! What do you think?!  I wanted to make things as pretty and as functional as possible.  I think you’re going to like our new layout as you navigate new content, past posts, and links to our amazing sponsors!

#2- Life threw a lot at me last year, and unfortunately the blog suffered.  This year I’ve got a plan and people in place to keep new content coming at you!  You can expect 3 posts per week dedicated to what you and I love- gorgeous spaces that inspire!

#3- To get things going, we are revealing multiple new spaces on the blog for the first few weeks. And guess what!?…..we’re also doing some amazing giveaways that correspond to those lovely looks!  You’ll have a chance to win a little of that KPD flair to add to your own home!  I hope you’re as excited about that as I am!

So, are you ready to get this party started?!

We’re kicking off this relaunch with a bedroom design chalked full of gorgeous color, custom creations, story telling pieces, and DIY you can take on for your own home!  Meeting and working with the Lewis family was an absolute joy!  The mission I was given? To transform a blank white space into a place where daughter, Cal, could feel comfortable, inspired, and encouraged!

The bed and a dresser were the only pieces that would be making the move from Cal’s former room, and the rest was for me to bring together.  I knew that I wanted to bring tons of color into this space and keeping the walls a crisp white would allow all those gorgeous hues to really pop.  I made the ceiling dark because the room is huge and the ceilings are high.  The midnight blue color (black with a touch of navy) makes the room feeling a little more cozy and adds a layer of visual interest.  Plus, the gold letters look really lovely against that contrasting backdrop.  More about that project later.

And now, I’ll let the pictures do the talking…..

Over the next few weeks I’ll be covering all the details behind the tinted mirror feature wall, the custom acrylic desk, feather fringe chandelier, neon art, the fun pattern covering the TV wall, that gorgeous rug, and more!!! There is so much to share regarding the process of bringing this room together!
