3. I really like it when bloggers visit my blog and comment… ; )

3. Posting comments on a blog and having access to the “contact” link is sufficient.
4. More info on the architectural and other renovations you’ve done (e.g., the cool ceiling in your dining room and kitchen… I want to do that to mine (on a dime!).
5. Nada.
6. Written is better, but video’s are great for the “how to” and DIY projects (especially when dealing with electrical projects, tools, etc.).
7. Bring it on.
8. Both!
9. Both! But, quick and easy fits my life right now!
10. Maybe a separate blog for fashion or entertaining.
11. N/A
12. Love, love, love that you are unashamed of your faith and that you are using this blog as a platform for reaching others and exhibiting God’s gift to you! Only other comment is that I would love to see more of your house and how you transformed it!
Blessings!

Hi Kara,
I was little intimidated to post because I didn’t want to sound like I was criticizing or being mean. So please know that all the answers are meant to be constructive criticism. Hopefully, you wont sit there and read this and think, “How rude!” 🙂
1. What types of posts do you enjoy the most? (DIY, Before and Afters, Mini Makeovers, Features of the best we find in the blog world, Informative (how to use tools, design tips, ect), Videos)
DIYs, B&As, Makeovers.
2. What do you feel like this blog is missing?
Better photos. Donna fron Funky Junk Interiors has several posts on taking great shots with a point & shoot.
http://funkyjunkinteriors.blogspot.com/2010/03/workshop-series-blog-photography-from.html
3. How can I improve the dialogue between you (the readers) and me (the writer)? THIS IS A BIG ONE FOR ME!
I would say answer questions through comments (for the benefit of future readers) but e-mail, whenever possible, responses to the person that asked. I’m not very good at always checking back previous posts for answers in the comments section.
4. What do you want more of?
Tutorials.
5. What do you want less of?
Video tutorials. Don’t have the patience to sit through them.
6. Do you enjoy videos or do you prefer written posts?
Written. I agree with Kelly about your voice. (Please don’t think I’m being a terrible person). I also think your hand movements in the videos were a bit much. (again, constructive, not critical)
7. Do you want to see/hear more from Tim?
My initial thought was, “For sure!” But I can’t imagine making any of the cool things he makes. But that might be because I am intimidated by power tools.
8. Do you enjoy the crafty sort of posts or the high style design posts?
Both. Nice to have a mix of things.
9. Are you interested in reading about projects that are difficult and detailed or quick and easy?
Quick & easy, of course! Perhaps pepper in the harder ones for the “inspiration file.
10. Would you be interested in seeing my blog expand to cover fashion design/diy’s and/or entertaining ideas?
Entertaining ideas sound fun.
11. If you have a small business would you be interested in advertising on this site for a small monthly fee?
N/A
12. Is there ANYTHING else you think I should know?
I do enjoy checking out your products. Wouldn’t mind seeing more products available is you have any. Perhaps in the under $50 range.
1. I like the Before and Afters and the Mini Makeovers – very inspiring!
2. Nothing really!
3. Hmm, I’m not really sure. This is a good start though!
4. I like what you’re currently doing, so keep it up!
5. I’m not so much into wardrobe stuff, but it doesn’t bother me enough to stop reading the blog.
6. I tend to not watch videos, regardless of topic.
7. Sure!
8. I like a good mix, although things I can do myself are always appreciated.
9. Both. Quick projects are nice, but more detailed ones tend to make a better impact.
10. I would keep it to home-related topics, although entertaining could fall into that genre.
11. N/A
12. Keep working hard, and keep up the good work!!!
1. before and afters
3. Don’t know…I’m a “lurker”–happily.
6. I prefer written posts.
7. The DIY stuff from him is cool (but your’s is too).
8. definitely both! crafty maybe a tiny bit more.
9. Both!
10. Maybe–but I think sticking with home design would be fine too. It seems to be what you’re passionate about. Most blogs that try to do too much just end up seeming stale (unless they have multiple contributers with new/fresh voices).
11. n/a
12. I think it’s great that you share your triumphs and struggles–it really give your blog a voice. You might try having some guest posters as well–kind of keeps things fresh. I enjoy most of your posts. Congrats on a great blog : ) (btw–the “bribe” worked to bring me from lurking to commenting!)
1. What types of posts do you enjoy the most? DIY, Before & Afters, Mini Makeovers, and some guest posts
2. What do you feel like this blog is missing?
I don’t think it’s missing anything
3. How can I improve the dialogue between you (the readers) and me (the writer)?
Maybe direct questions, they seem to encourage people to comment, but I don’t know, I struggle to get comments myself.
4. What do you want more of?
DIY maybe, but I think you have a great mix of things that you write about.
5. What do you want less of?
I can’t think of anything specifically.
6. Do you enjoy videos or do you prefer written posts?
I usually have to skip the videos (because I am a terrible person who reads blogs at work), but I sometimes watch them when I check in on the weekends.
7. Do you want to see/hear more from Tim?
I think they could be really cool, I’d especially love to hear about the concrete tables/counters, but I think that has already been covered here (and I should probably just go back and read it again).
8. Do you enjoy the crafty sort of posts or the high style design posts?
Both!
9. Are you interested in reading about projects that are difficult and detailed or quick and easy?
I honestly like both, and I know that anyone who isn’t moving from house to house (like some of the bigger blogs) may run out of difficult&detailed projects.
10. Would you be interested in seeing my blog expand to cover fashion design/diy’s and/or entertaining ideas?
Maybe a little fashion, but mostly home decor/design. Entertaining ideas could be good if you mean table setting/centerpiece type posts.
11. If you have a small business would you be interested in advertising on this site for a small monthly fee?
I don’t have a small business yet, but possibly in the future.
12. Is there ANYTHING else you think I should know?
I sometimes find blogspot blogs hard to navigate/comment on, but that is probably because I am used to wordpress. It’s not a big enough deal that I think you need to move to wordpress or anything, though.
1. do it yourself posts, before and afters, mini makeovers and House crashing
2. i don’t think it’s missing anything!
3. not sure (sorry, i’m no help!)
4. i loooove DIY projects and will never tire of seeing them posted! and house tours/makeovers are nice too bc of the inspiration!
6. i like written posts most, except when it’s a project like the a headboards you’ve made. then it’s informative to see how you made those (with what tools, etc) through video
7. he’s handy, too, so it adds another dimension to the blog!
8. more crafty bc it’s more practical for my life (and budget!) BUT the high style design stuff is good for inspiration
9. my ADD says quick and easy! ha!
10. eh, maybe every now and again. especially entertaining stuff
11. n/a
12. what you do isn’t easy! keep up the good work!
